oh, susquehanna!

well it's been a good npd...even though i'm too much of a puss to go around without any pants on. still, i had fun, i bought some speakers for my ipod and i got a grinder from subway. i have to go to work pretty soon, yeah that's right i work the night shift. so there were these two lesbians in subway, and they come into dairy queen and the usually leave me a tip. this is only funny because a couple weeks ago i offended some gay guys at dq, and then those lesbians came in 20 minutes later and tipped me. okay so maybe it's not that funny. this summer i'm going to play my bass a lot, i don't plan on getting good but i want to be listenable. i guess listenable would be good so scratch that. also over the summer i need to lose 20 more pounds. now i know that nobody cares about this so that's all i'll say on it until the end of summer. hopefully the results will speak for themselves...haha. gary

happy no pants day

i can't believe i almost forogt to say happy no pants day

happy no pants day!

late introduction

i apologize for not giving a proper introduction the first time. this is my blog... i hope everyone enjoys reading it because we all know it's going to be awesome. we will share many good times together. that is, if your idea of a good time is listening to gary larosa bitch about something, hopefully a book. i guess my problem is that people just don't give me enough feedback. i hate when people hold things back, like when they won't talk about anything. arguing about somethign intellectual is amazing because back and forth conversations are very important for communication. therefore, arguing allows each party to convey their point, as long as they are both mature enough to listen to each other. this does create some problems i suppose, but who likes normal conversation anyways. normal conversation just leads to agreeing and not learning anything. so you know what, argue with me, i might argue back, but i'll love it. every second.

sorry if that last part was really creepy

i take it back, i'm not sorry

only connect...

this is something that everyone should live by, i mean seriuosly who isn't a closet homosexual these days. the point is that forster is a genius, simply because he defied any notions of realism and representated humanism. in fact, anyone that argues that his book fails because it only half represents realism is an ingorant conversative. i mean just think about it, what fiction writer wants to full describe an actual place. especially during the romantic time of writing...it just doesn't make any sense. what i'm really trying to say is that cultural criticism is the most useless form of criticism that i know of. since when is fiction supposed to represent history. cultural critics disregard any meaning that might lie underneath the words and expect wayyy to much of it historically. that is the problem, people don't read fiction for the right reasons. howards end is a good book because it shows strong connections through different social classes to create an ideal state, or alomst. however, people expect way too much from forster and therefore, they take away from teh point of the novel. fuck people man.
